Hi all!

Love the reunion pics and the Classmate Profiles/pictures. It's interesting to see what we've all been up to and how much or how little everyone has changed.

Was Coach Williams really only 24????

Yep. FRESH out of Black Hills State College he was the Sophomore Basketball coach and along with Mr. Graves, they were our Sophomore Class sponsors.

I had forgotten about him being our class sponsor. I can't imagine him being only 24, but to a 16 year old, I guess that's ancient!

Who is bringing the paint to paint the Camel? Class of '88 hit it last weekend, so now it's OUR turn!

R. J. Welter (Addison)

We all voted and elected you to be in charge of paint. Should we paint the camel at Humphrey's too? It has '88 and '08 on it.

Peg Daly (Smith)

Sounds like your "on top of it", R.J., we'll plan on you bringing the paint!!

Ahhh...Gladys Lander's snake. After she put it in Kim's desk. I took it and put it in her desk one day while she was out while we watch the movie. Anyone remember always watching a movie in her class?...she picked that snake up, kissed it and put it back in the cage. The next day I was moved to a different class becasue I called her "old lady landers".
I remember Mr Kelley. I thought he was the strongest man I had ever seen, because of all those muscles...
Ladys...honestly, how many of you thought Williams was the hottest teacher around?...I did.

You know we all had our thoughts about Mrs. Landers and how different she was and how very old school the way she did things. But I had the chance to see her in a very different light when I was very young. As my folks divorced when I was 3 or 4 and we lived at the Experimental Farm now the Morning side park at Cam-plex. My Grandfather worked for the Landers there and my father sister and I lived with him out there for some time. She was as hard as a rock but took alot of time to show my sister and I a very different side of herself. She could be so caring and understanding at the time we lived there and showed me a side of nature and wildlife that really amazed me and stuck with me even though I was so young. Hell I cant remember things from two weeks ago but I remember that time in my life like yesterday. It was very sad to see her going through the dumpster at the emergency closet for clothes that she wore and it made her look like a homeless person but she was just so set in her ways. Then they found her dead after a car wreck laying on the side of the road, Hell I didnt think a train hitting her would have killed her she was that ornery! But in school she was a totally different person than when we lived next to them. Guess it shows how people show their different colors in a different enviroment.

Ken,
Yes she was a different person to me as an adult also. This is strange but there were many times I picked her and her class up and gave the rides for field trips in a school bus. I took them out by the port of entrt many times to plant all the evergreen trees that are beside the interstate there. She was very pleasant and joking. What a difference there is seeing someone thru adult eyes and not a childs. But I showed her the respect she deserved. You know she once went thru the red lights on my school bus out on highway 51 too.

About Coach Williams. Back about 1988 I was watching Nebraka Public Television, some documentary about The University. Believe it or not, they showed a clip of a professor teaching a class. It was Coach Williams. I couldn't believe it. I'm not sure why he was there but he was teaching the class and looked the same as I remembered him.

Sure wish you were going to be here, and others, too, that have posted messages and have reconnected (Pat). We will miss all of you!

We would have loved to be there this weekend, but just too many prior commitments to pull it off. This web site has been a great way to get reaquainted with everyone, most of whom I have not seen since graduation. I just about got whiplash the first few visits from the deja vu. Hats off to Peg and the rest of the organizing committee for making this available for all of us.

Hope everyone has a great time at the reunion, and have a few cocktails for me.

Cheers!

Hey I hope you all had a great time. Kentucky is just a little to far away but the website is awesome.

Thank you Lou and Peg for pulling me back into the class of 1978 it's been fun.

My god 30 years already just a blink,

Scott

The cocktails were "flowing" last night as well as stories and laughter. We sure miss all that can't be here but you're in our thoughts, good wishes and lots of those "stories!!" There will be pics!!

Lou Wilkson (Gaspers)

Last night was a blast! It was so great to see everyone, and have a few laughs. What a touch to have our office women from years ago there to check us in.

We had a small committee, and everyone did some work, but I want to send a special thank you to Peg for creating this site, and pulling everything together. Peg, you've done a phenomenal job, and it wouldn't have happened without you. Deana, Sue, Janice, and Sheila thank you for all of your work for securing the meeting places, the menu, shirts, books, etc...What a great team!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again tonight!

I just have to "second" the huge thank you to Deanna, Lou, Sue, Sheila and Janice. Wow, they put in many hours with phone calls, negotiating and securing the Clarion and Old time Pizza, scanning pics and putting name tags together etc. The t-shirts and memory books are going to be great, which have taken a lot of work! We'll post a message about those soon, for those who were unable to be here or even if you were here and want to order!! I sincerely appreciate all of their hard work!!
